SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
Learn valuable work skills
In our Aim to Work programs at The Shed, join activities and supports that give you the opportunity to learn and practice skills that would be valuable in employment. We offer a variety of activities and supports to choose from.
MARKET CRAFT
Our Market Craft Programs teach you to make cards, gifts and crafts which can be sold at markets. The focus is on developing quality pieces which enables you to make beautiful handmade gifts for markets, fairs and stalls.
WOODWORK
Our Woodwork Groups learn basic woodwork to make practical items. You will gain hands-on skills working with a variety of timbers, tools and equipment to produce Woodwork masterpieces as gifts or as useful household items.
WE VOLUNTEER
The We Volunteer Groups do amazing work helping elderly people with the Meals on Wheels Program and various other volunteer organisations in the Central Coast and Lake Macquarie Region.
WORKCREWS
Our WorkCrew Groups at The Shed do a range of outdoor jobs from working in the garden with the Gardening and Mowing Crew, to keeping our vans and vehicles clean with the Car Wash Crew.
CAFE SKILLS
Our Cafe Skills Groups learn cooking, catering and barista skills which can help them to gain valuable skills for working in a cafe or in a professional catering environment.
IT & ADMIN SKILLS
Learn basic computer literacy and admin skills using software programs such as Microsoft Office, Photoshop and CANVA in the IT Skills Group. Computers are provided and participants are able to explore a range of computer systems.
